The Forest of Maures and the vineyards of the Cotes de Provence are the main attractions of Le Clos de Lette. Isolated, in an area natural beauty, at the edge of the forest and in the heart of the vineyards, the peace and quiet is only broken by birdsong or the chirping of crickets, depending on the season. Le Clos de Lette is the destination for nature lovers who are interested in the traditions of Provence, and solitude. The coast is 15 km (9.4 miles) away, with beaches and crystal clear waters, plus the Islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros in the Iles d’ Hyeres. A little further away are the bright lights of Saint-Tropez. At Le Clos de Lette everything is close to hand, including the excellent cool Rose wine produced by Simone and her son Frederick, following the tradition of their husband and father, Alain, whose family have been growing vines in the soil of Pierrefeu since the 17th century. From the main gate a long distance hiking trail leads you to footpaths which allow you to explore the full extent of the Forest of Maures. For lovers of mimosa, there is an abundant display in February and March; and from May until October the pink laurels take over producing a palette of bright colours surrounding the accommodation. The exceptional view from Le Clos de Lette over Pierrefeu and the surrounding vast plain, will keep you enchanted from morning until sunset.
